Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. When does the tour leave? Where from?? When does it return???

A. We depart at 9.30am from Castle Wynd, next to the Tourist Information
Centre. We return to Inverness around 6.30pm.

Q. Where is the Tourist Information Centre. Where am I???

A. A detailed map can be found here

Q. What is the best way to get to Inverness?

A. The megabus is probably cheapest, if you are coming from the south.
The train is usually more expensive, but check out special offers. Scotrail
have a friends fare scheme, for groups of 3 or for people from Glasgow or
Edinburgh to Inverness. Air Travel is possible, cheap flights can be found
from several UK cities as well as Dublin. If you are having trouble, contact
us, we'll try to help.

Q. Where do you stop for lunch?

A. Lunch can be bought at Eilean Donan Castle, Fort Augustus, or
brought with you. We don't mind you eating on the bus, as long as
you show due respect to your fellow passengers, and the decor.

Q. What makes this tour a backpacker tour?

A. Our style of guiding is light-hearted, but not lightweight. We want you to
understand this incredible region, but we want you to have a laugh as
well. We pitch our tour at backpackers, because we find our style best
suited to younger travellers, but everyone with a sense of humour is
welcome.

Q. Do you go to the Isle of Skye?

A. No, we are based in Inverness, and we feel that a full day tour of the
island would be too long a day, and consist of too much driving, not
enough time off the bus.

We can however offer you a reduced price ticket if you want to leave the
tour at eilean donan castle. From there, the public bus runs to Kyle,
where there are several hostels. Contact us for further details.

Q. Why do you only have two tours?

A. We have picked a few of the many fantastic places around Inverness.
if you have something different in mind, contact us with details, and we'll give
you a price.

Q. What is worn under the kilt?

A. Nothing. Everything is in perfect working order.
